Thanks BC No it did some major damage to about 200 or so trees and some homes and businesses.. it started ground zero at a Vancouver Lake about a mile west of us and hop skipped a straight line east on 78th street for 2 miles about a quarter mile wide. It totally destroyed the row boat club which was non profit...smashed all the boats(canoes) the kids were making and using for competition, some were really old and they had no insurance on them cause of the age of them. But other non profits stepped up and donated some with offers for more to come and loads of help to rebuild all of their structures.
Anyway the tornado went east on 78th and caught shoppers coming out of the fred meyer store by surprise sending shopping carts over the tops of cars and throwing them into Hiway 99 hitting cars in the process, also turned the heating air conditioning units estimated weight about 1500 pounds at freddies completely upside down and broke a natural gas main, also in the same parking lot picked up and dropped sideways a semi trailer and scooted it almost into the hiway.
Continuing east taking roofs and breaking windows and ripping bricks from the sides of buildings it hopscotched down 78th street picking up trailers and cars and hanging them off of fences that it didn't rip up, throwing roofing debris from metal roofs into cars and trees that were snapped like trees. Tore down some very heavy signs or left them bent and twisted, picked up and completely turned two more heating air conditioning units onto their tops.
Most of the damage occurred closer to the Lake on NW 10 And Sluman which is residential.
Also the tornado turned north and settled in Hockinson and ripped off the roof of a very long barn and dropped it 300 feet from the barn in one piece as well as snapping the trees there as well.
The unofficial count of utility poles snapped in half was a couple dozen, 2500 people lost power and by the next day all power was restored.
People are coming together and everyone is helping everyone...except the dreggs of society that are scammers and looking for a quick profit...like 4,000 dollars to cut a huge 4 foot wide tree off your house...not to take it away or to completely cut it up but to just get it off the house..well my arm is hurting again so will close this for now, if you let me know the area your friend live in I can reassure you that they are OK if you like. Just to let you know though that NO ONE was Injured... Love and Hugs Chey

Hi chanda ya I am glad to, the hail was bad enough we got about two inches in 1 minute covered the ground and poured off the roof into a pile a foot deep plugging up the downspouts.
I hope my arm gets better soon I don't like going to the doctors but if it doesn't get better soon I will have to. Thanks for dropping in always happy to see you. Love and Hugs Chey

Glad you missed the tornado. We had a tornado hit here about a couple years ago which did some damage in town. I hate tornadoes. They scare the Hell outta me and we are in watches and warnings all the time in the spring and summer. Sure hope your arm and shoulder get to feeling better!
